Anniversary Weekend at Pointe West Cottages
Josh and I spent a fab anniversary weekend at a cottage on the beach! This is a picture of the beach club we were able to go to since we rented a condo. Our friends, Tae, Ashley, Matt and Lindy were also celebrating June anniversaries--so we all went together! Since Lindy already has a little boy, and Ashley and mine are on the way, I must note here that for the first time on a vacation for me....the other kids in the pool were cute instead of annoying. Funny how parenting changes you. We couldn't stop looking at the little ones in the pool. And we listened to the 9-10 yr old boys who were talking about the Transformers movie. Lindy and I were hoping our boys would grow up to be like the little blonde boy who said to his friend, "Yeah, I saw it, but it had a lot of bad language." Not that we want our kids to see those movies, but to know a bad thing when they hear it. Oh- be careful little ears what you hear.
This was the house we rented for the weekend. We had lots of laughs...played the bowl game until we were delirious, and ate a great deal of yummies, and had just a touch of sun! :) Thanks to Aloe Vera being handy--Ash and I were good to go. Great anniversary, my Honey!
My "It's A" Cookies :)
Before we knew what Hunter would be....I took on a domestic endeavor of making a sugar cookie bouquet. The recipe was shared w/ me by Christa Mac's blog. SMy friends Amanda and Christy introduced me to her blog- she's got some great ideas if you want to check it out. The piping bags in the picture were stage one...which quickly turned into stages 1-7, but it was fun!
For days after the project, Josh kept asking me...."what is this on the table?" After I knew I had cleaned and cleaned the table....that icing just multiplied in the middle of the night.
The finished product....complete with "It's A Boy" ribbon from Michael's and blue curly ribbon added after the doctor's appointment!
The "Things" reunite! For years, my cousin, Leslie, and my sister, Kayla, and I have called ourselves Thing 1, Thing 2 and Thing 3. For some reason, I am thing 3. Leslie, me and Kayla, are exactly the same true ages of DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle Tanner. We've been the 3 amigos/sisters/Benny&Joon gang for our whole lives! It's so good to have her back in Texas. She just moved back a week before the the infamous doctor's appointment. So glad she and "Atlanta" (Aunt Lana) could celebrate with us. :)
Just in case you are wondering, Kayla is dressed in a hawaiian shirt in honor of how we had planned to decorate Hunter's room. It will be a "beach" theme with muted blues and tan stripes. More pics of the nursery to come.
Thanks for reading about the "it's a party!"
